Published by TSR S1-4 RP in 2013
Hardback Book ISBN 9780786964611 by E. Gary Gygax et al.

Just to note, I do not and cannot support the Gygax memorial fund, as much as I believe in the cause, this book was released in 2012 by Wizards of the Coast. The text block almost identical to the original, except with the addition of the gygax memorial fund page(s) to the rear.

This is a digital remaster of the original and as such some of the contents are very slightly different (a full page addition of the Gygax memorial fundraiser initiative, for example) , some comments from members of the RPG community (found on boardgamegeek):

“Given that original printings of the PHB are tough to find at any price, the premium reprint is a welcome event. The contents of the original PHBs sometimes changed slightly over the many printings; this appears to be a reproduction of the last version. The text is equivalent to my old copy but the formatting is different and the font face is slightly different. Overall the layout is the same. It’s strange to read through this in glossy paper. The binding is like the standard Wizards of the Coast binding and the paper is the standard Wizards glossy paper – so Good physical production and should last.”

“The premium reprints are impressive achievements, in terms of the work that went into replicating the original layout, and yet I find them slightly creepy: they’re in the “uncanny valley” for me, very very close to the original books without quite matching up.”

This Copy:
